Make Cleaning & House Chores Fun For Kids

At Champs Nursery, our experts share with you the best tips to make your kids enjoy doing house chores in a healthy fun way.

1.    The Right Tools

Imagine your kids cleaning with a broom that’s way taller than them? It’s best to always give your kids the right tools that suit their height. They’ll much more fun and wouldn’t find it hard when cleaning with the right broom or mop.

Also, you can make it more fun by letting them mix up some all natural cleaner. They’ll love to use something they’ve made themselves.

2.    Laundry Basket

Walk around the house with a laundry basket and add anything that’s not in its place in the basket. After your kid gets back from school and before doing anything else, allow each kid to separate his or her stuff from the basket and put it where it belongs.

This trick will teach them to stay organized. They’ll know that anything that’s theirs and is out of place they’ll put it back where it belongs themselves.

3.    Apron With Deep Pockets

Make an apron with deep pockets for every kid. You can use a pillow to case and add pockets to the apron or buy readily made apron with pockets.

What’s the idea behind it?

As your kid cleans his/her room tell them to put in that pocket anything that doesn’t belong in the room. If your kids don’t like the apron idea, you can always make them use a laundry basket.

4.    Checklists

Do you think your kid will clean the room as you would? Of course not. It might take time and patience to get your kid used to the things to clean in his/her room.

By using a checklist, you’re guiding your kid and helping them know exactly what to do while cleaning to get things done easily.

5.    Reward Them

Kids love rewards and fill they’ve done something good when they’re rewarded. But, does a reward always have to be candy and harmful sugars?

No, you don’t want to harm your kid! So, you need to come up with a reward system of things they’ll get to do or places you’ll take them to as they properly do the house chores.

Also, you can reward your kid with some cash as they complete each chore or a whole day of cleaning up. It’s definitely up to you.
